Insurance, Self-Pay & How to check your benefits
Haven Mental Health Solutions is a telehealth psychotherapy practice serving clients in Michigan and Illinois. Many clients use insurance; others choose self-pay.
*Coverage depends on your specific plan, the state where you are located during sessions, and which clinician you see.* We do not guarantee that a logo or plan name means your visit will be covered. Please verify benefits before your first appointment.
Plans we commonly work with:
- Aetna
-Anthem
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Blue Care Network
- Priority Health
- United / UnitedHealthcare
Michigan:
All Haven clinicians see Michigan clients and participate in-network with plans such as Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Priority Health, and/or United, depending on the clinician. Michigan-oriented plans such as **Priority Health** and **Blue Care Network** are especially relevant for many Michigan clients. Always confirm your clinician is in-network for your specific product (HMO, PPO, EPO, and similar).
Illinois:
Virtual care is available for Illinois clients with clinician Aimee Rodriguez, LCSW who is licensed to practice in Illinois.
What we do not accept:
We are not able to see clients whose only coverage is Medicaid or Medicare at this time.
Self-pay:
Self-pay is always an option if you prefer not to use insurance, if we are out of network for your plan, or if you are waiting on benefits confirmation.
Current self-pay session fees:
- Intake (first appointment): $175
- Follow-up appointments: $155
- Couples therapy: $165
Fees may change; confirm current rates when you schedule. If you plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer, ask your plan about deductibles, out-of-network mental health benefits, and what documentation they require. We can discuss general billing paperwork options during onboarding. Please use secure channels for any insurance details.
How to verify your benefits (before visit 1):
1. Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card, or use your insurer’s app or portal.
2. Say you are checking outpatient mental health / psychotherapy benefits for telehealth with a provider in Michigan or Illinois (your state during sessions).
3. Ask:
- "Is Haven Mental Health Solutions or my specific clinician in-network for my plan?"
- "What is my copay, coinsurance, and deductible for outpatient therapy?"
- "Are telehealth sessions covered the same as in-person?"
- "Do I need a referral or prior authorization?"
- "Are there session limits per year?
4. Optional: share your insurance carrier name, member ID, and date of birth through our secure client portal or scheduling system so our team can help run a courtesy eligibility check. Eligibility checks estimate benefits; they are not a guarantee of payment.
5. Upload card images only through secure channels we designate.
