what to expect in your first virtual therapy session

Starting therapy can bring up a mix of emotions—relief, anxiety, uncertainty. Lots of people feel uncomfortable about the idea of sharing super personal stuff with someone they don't know. That’s totally normal.
At Haven Mental Health Solutions, your first virtual therapy session is designed to feel supportive, not overwhelming.
Your therapist will start by getting to know you:
What brought you to therapy
What you’ve been experiencing
What you’re hoping for
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Many people come in unsure of how to explain what they’re feeling, which is fine.
Your therapist will prob also ask about:
• Your mental health history
• Current stressors
• Relationships, work, or family life
It's not an interrogation; it’s a way to understand the full picture so therapy can be tailored to you.
Our therapists, including Aimee Rodriguez, LMSW, LCSW, and Rebecca Rognes, LLPC, focus on creating a space where you feel heard, validated, and safe to open up at your own pace.
Virtual therapy allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home, which can make the process feel more approachable, especially if you’re already feeling overwhelmed. Pets welcome :)
You don’t need to prepare anything perfectly (I know this is hard for our perfectionists out there...!)
If you’re ready to take that first step, you can schedule here:
