My Story

I didn’t start Haven because everything was going great.

I started it because I was working in a system that expected me to care deeply, show up fully, hold space for everyone—and somehow be okay with being undervalued while doing it.

Which… no.

And if you’re a woman in a helping profession, you already know this isn’t rare. The expectation is basically: give endlessly, be emotionally available at all times, don’t push back, and call it “being passionate about your work.”

At some point, I had a very clear thought:
this isn’t sustainable. and also… I’m not doing this forever.

So I stopped.

And I built Haven instead.

Not as a backup plan. Not as a “let’s see what happens.”
But as a very intentional decision to create something that actually felt aligned.

A space built on boundaries, honesty, self-respect, and the belief that caring about people should not require burning yourself out to prove it.

Haven is also personal in a completely different way.

“Haven” was my mom’s name.

Growing up, I was someone she leaned on for emotional support. Which taught me how to be present, how to sit with hard things, and how to really understand people—but it also gave me a very early understanding of how much people (again, especially women) are expected to carry.

That experience didn’t just “inspire” me to become a therapist.
It made me someone who notices when people are holding way more than they should have to.

Naming this practice Haven is my way of honoring her—and everything that came from that relationship.

I genuinely love doing therapy this way. Telehealth removes a lot of the extra stress and makes it easier to just… show up. And that matters. Because the work we’re doing isn’t surface-level.

I work with adult women navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, work stress, and parenting stress—the kind of things that build up when you’ve been “handling it” for a long time and it’s starting to feel like too much.

I tend to work with clients long-term (like… years), because we’re not here for quick fixes or surface-level conversations.

My approach is insight-driven and client-centered, which means we’re looking at patterns, history, and the deeper “why” behind what you’re feeling. I will absolutely be connecting current emotions to past experiences or childhood dynamics, because those patterns don’t just disappear on their own.

Haven came from a desire for something more honest, more sustainable, and more aligned. And now it’s a space where those same values extend to both the therapists on our team and the clients we work with.

You don’t need the right words. Or a plan.

Just show up. We’ll make it make sense (eventually).
